Machine embroidery on T-shirts or polo shirts has to be discreet (small logo), because the way T-shirts are worn a large, embroidered logo on the T-shirt in any position, may cause discomfort.
EMBROIDERY ON T-SHIRTS AND
POLO SHIRTS
If the machine embroidery
must be large on the T-shirts, then a special foil is placed on the inside
which acts as a material from the T-shirt so that the machine embroidery does
not cause discomfort. The disadvantage of such a large, embroidered design is
that the T-shirt may become uncomfortable to wear.
We will now
explain where embroidery may be placed on T-shirts.
We use thinner
and thicker interlining and it all depends on the thickness of the T-shirt. We
use water-soluble foil if a better design cannot be applied on the delivered
T-shirts. The water-soluble foil helps the thread itself not to be absorbed into
the T-shirt but to be neatly visible on the surface of the T-shirt.
We offer a large
range of Gunold thread colours.

EMBROIDERY ON T-SHIRT FRONTS
Applying machine
embroidery on the front of the shirt is limited in its maximum dimensions due
to the size of the frame that can fit into the shirt.
The maximum height
and width of the sign, text, coat of arms or logo can be up to 26 cm because
the frame is square.
If the logo is
larger than these dimensions then the sign is joined in several parts to obtain
the desired dimension.
The density of
the stitch depends on the density of each T-shirt, a grammage of 200g and more is
recommended. It is possible to work with a smaller grammage, but this requires
additional preparation of the shirt due to the density of the threads in the
substrate.
Satin stitch is
most often used for smaller letters, borders around the logo and small details
that need to be made, or pattern stitch for larger surfaces (needle stitches
several times from one side to the other).
ADVANTAGES OF EMBROIDERY ON
T-SHIRT FRONTS
Excellent
visibility of the logo on the T-shirt
Different
positions on the front of the shirt (center, left and right, up and down)
Small and
large logo or even combining the logo from several parts
EMBROIDERY ON THE FRONT,
LEFT (NEAR THE HEART) SIDE OF THE T-SHIRT
The most common
position for applying a logo, coat of arms, sign or text is on the left front
(near the heart).
The most common
dimensions are 5-8cm and can be larger or smaller and it depends on the logo.
The stitch
density depends on the thread density on the T-shirt and this means a lower
stitch density on thicker T-shirts and a higher stitch density on thinner T-shirts.
The Satin stitch
is most commonly used for smaller letters, borders around the logo and small
details that need to be made.
ADVANTAGES OF EMBROIDERY ON
THE FRONT, LEFT (NEAR THE HEART) SIDE OF THE T-SHIRT
Decent
logo layout
Positions
can be made to order or classic, as usual on all T-shirts
Dimensions
2 cm-11 cm
Height
increases or decreases proportionally

EMBROIDERY ON T-SHIRT SLEEVE
Machine
embroidery can be applied to the sleeve of T-shirts in the classic position or
according to order.
When applying
embroidery to short sleeve shirts the sign can sit horizontally on the sleeve
shifted up to 1 cm from the sleeve edge, so it can be noticeable, or it can be
applied vertically along the entire sleeve.
The size of a
horizontal design can be a maximum of 12 cm in length, and it all depends on
the size of the shirt. Because the sleeves are larger or smaller and may not
fit the frame of the embroidery machine.
The vertical sign
also depends on the size of the sleeve, but we achieve lengths of up to 70 cm
by joining smaller segments of the sign or text.
The Satin stitch
is most commonly used for smaller letters, borders around the logo and small
details that need to be made.
ADVANTAGES OF EMBROIDERY ON
T-SHIRT SLEEVE
Horizontal sign length of between 2 and 12 cm
Vertical lengths of up to 70 cm can be achieved
by joining smaller segments of the sign or text
Classic or custom positioning
Signs are clearly visible from a side-view
APPLYING EMBROIDERY ONTO THE
BACK OF T-SHIRTS
Applying machine embroidery on the back of the
T-shirts is not recommended because it can make the T-shirt quite heavy. On
polo shirts, machine embroidery looks good because the polo shirt is made of
pique fabric, so it can withstand machine embroidery well. We can work
dimensions up to 26cm or larger in multiple joints.
The density of the
stitch depends on the weight of the shirt, of course heavier shirts are better
able to withstand machine embroidery.
Satin stitch is
most often used for smaller letters, borders around the logo and small details
that need to be made, or pattern stitch for larger surfaces (needle stitches
several times from one side to the other).
ADVANTAGES OF APPLYING
EMBROIDERY ONTO THE BACK OF T-SHIRTS
Horizontal
dimension of the sign of 2-26 cm and more
Vertical
lengths of up to 70 cm can be achieved by joining smaller segments of the sign
or text
Classic or
custom positioning
Good
visibility of the sign when viewed from the back

EMBROIDERY ON THE NECK OF
THE T-SHIRT
What is the neck
of the T-shirt even?
The neck of the
shirt means that a machine embroidery no larger than 10 cm in length is made
under the collar of the shirt.
Of course, you
can also make a larger sign, but mostly small details of the logo or text are applied
to the neck of the T-shirt.
Satin stitch is
most often used for smaller letters, borders around the logo and small details
that need to be made.
ADVANTAGES OF EMBROIDERY ON
THE NECK OF THE T-SHIRT
Small
dimensions look discrete, no more than 10cm
Position
under the collar
Low
visibility
EMBROIDERY ON THE SIDE OF
T-SHIRTS
Machine
embroidery on the side of the shirt is always done a little bigger and vertical,
the dimensions of the embroidery may be up to 26 cm and more.
The embroidery is
positioned according to the customer's wishes.
Satin stitch is
most often used for smaller letters, borders around the logo and small details
that need to be made, or pattern stitch for larger surfaces (needle stitches
several times from one side to the other).
ADVANTAGES
OF EMBROIDERY ON THE SIDE OF THE T-SHIRT
High visibility
Small and large designs, logos, text
ect.
